Smithwick & Mariners Insurance, Inc. (d.b.a. Smithwick & Clarke Insurance) was established on July 1, 1987 as an Independent Insurance Agency, by Stephen Smithwick & Howard B. Clarke. Originally founded to service the marine industry (marinas, yacht clubs, boat builders, fishing vessels, tugboats, etc.), the agency has grown to also focus on the Property and Casualty insurance needs of small to mid-sized commercial businesses and personal lines accounts for home and auto owners.

We have satellite offices in Kennebunk, ME and New Bedford, MA.The agency’s principles also have ownership in Chapman & Chapman Insurance in Damariscotta, ME and Midcoast Insurance Agency in Bath, ME. The agencies have 9 producers plus a support staff of 10 licensed agents as CSR’s, a Public Accountant/Comptroller and five supporting staff members.
